WAEC Releases November/December 2015 GCE Result, 48% Pass Recorded

The West African Examination Council (WAEC), has released the long awaited November/December 2015 General Certificate Examination (GCE) result.

Announcing the release of the results at a news conference in Lagos, the Head, National Office of the Council, Mr. Isaac Adenipekun, said of the total 237,154 candidates who sat for the examinations, 235,542 candidates, representing 99.32%

Bank accounts of some Nigerians frozen despite BVN registration

Many Nigerians have been complaining since yesterday about their accounts being frozen by their banks despite the fact that they have done their BVN registration. CBN spokesperson, Ibrahim Muazu, had on Sunday November 1st said despite the expiration of the October 31st deadline for BVN registration, customers will still be allowed to do their registration but however their accounts will be made inaccessible until they do their registration.

However reports from many Nigerians show that even after doing their registration many months ago, some banks have gone ahead to deactivate their accounts. Many say they could not withdraw from their accounts yesterday, leaving them cash trapped.

Students at a Netherlands school were stunned when their teacher stripped down in front of them to try a creative approach to teach a lesson about the human body.

Dutch woman, Debby Heerkens, a gym and biology teacher at Groene Hart Rijnwoude school, in the small town of Hazerswoude Dorp, Netherlands, gave her students an anatomy lesson they won't forget. When she stood in front of the class and started to remove her clothing, they weren't sure what to expect.

She stripped down to reveal a full suit that mapped out the human body in sharp and graphic detail. Heerkens had on several layers, one that showed the skeletal bone structure and another that featured the internal organs

Heerkens talked to CNN about her students. She said: "At first they were a little bit in shock because they thought 'the teacher is taking off her clothes,' until, they saw what was underneath,"

The point was to help students visualize the complex anatomy of the human body, while also highlighting its essential organs.

After teaching for seven years, Heerkens felt a need to be more creative with some of her lesson plans to keep her students engaged.

STORY: A POUND OF BUTTER

There was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to the baker. One day the baker decided to weigh the butter to see if he was getting a pound and he found that he was not. This angered him and he took the farmer to court. The judge asked the farmer if he was using any measure. The farmer replied, amour Honor, I am primitive. I don't have a proper measure, but I do have a scale." The judge asked, "Then how do you weigh the butter?" The farmer replied "Your Honor, long before the baker started buying butter from me, I have been buying a pound loaf of bread from him. Every day when the baker brings the bread, I put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If anyone is to be blamed, it is the baker."

What is the moral of the story? We get back in life what we give to others. Whenever you take an action, ask yourself this question: Am I giving fair value for the wages or money I hope to make? Honesty and dishonesty become a habit.

Some people practice dishonesty and can lie with a straight face. Others lie so much that they don't even know what the truth is anymore. But who are they deceiving? Themselves... The Buttom line is to try to be honest in your dealings because what ever you would either work in your favour in the nearest feature or work against you.
