105 year old Japanese runner, Hidekichi Miyazaki, also called Golden Bolt, has broken the world record and set a new one as the oldest runner alive just a day after celebrating his 105th birthday on Wednesday.
I will say this: I’m proud of my health. My brain might not be the sharpest but physically I’m tip-top. I’ve never had any health problems. The doctors are amazed by me. I can definitely keep on running for another two or three years.
Jeffrey Akoh has emerged as the 2015 MTN Project Fame winner. The 18 year old beat 5 other finalists to emerge the winner of the 8th season of MTN Project Fame. Pearl and Anderson came second and third respectively.

A philosophy professor stood before
his class with some items on the table in
front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.
He then asked the students if the jar
was full. They agreed that it was.
So the professor then picked up a box of
pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of
course, rolled into the open areas
between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the
jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor picked up a box of sand
and poured it into the jar. Of course, the
sand filled up the remaining open areas
of the jar.
He then asked once more if the jar was
full. The students responded with a
unanimous “Yes.”
“Now,” said the professor, “I want u to
recognize that this jar represents your
life. The rocks are the important things –
your family, your partner, your health, your children – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter – like ur job, ur house, ur car. The sand
is everything else, the small stuff.”
“If u put the sand into the jar first,”
he continued, “there is no room for the
pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for
ur life. If u spend all ur time&energy on the small stuff,u will never
have room for the things that are
important to u. Pay attention to the
things that are critical to ur
happiness. Play with ur children. Take academics serious, Take
ur partner out dancing.
There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party, or fix the disposal.”
“Take care of the rocks first – the things
that really matter. Set your priorities.
The rest is just sand.”

In the wake of recent attacks and unrest across the states of Nigeria, the NYSC board has now included in the registration procedure of NYSC members to choose at least 3 states which they would love to be deployed from which one will be finally selected for them by the board.
I think the NYSC has started to become liberal and more democratic with this initiative but it will stand against the main motive for which the programme was established!
The disadvantage of this development will be very disturbing; as some states will be favoured at the expense of the others.
However, the corps members have restricted Geo-political zones depending on the school they graduated from!
The management of the University of Lagos Akoka have shut down the school indefinitely following the protest that erupted yesterday in the school premises over the electrocution of one of its students, Oluchi Anekwe.
Oluchi was electrocuted in front of one of the halls of residence within the school campus on September 8th.
